As you answer a survey you may navigate forward and backward to amend answers should you wish. You can also use the navigation buttons to double check your answers before submitting. Clicking the Next button saves your answers after each question:

Some questions include a (?) icon which, when holding the mouse pointer over, will give extra help information:

On some surveys there may be a request to login. You may create a username which, ideally, shoudl be your e-mail address and a password to enable you to return and complete the survey at a later time.

There are various types of question in the West Mersea Neighbourhood Plan surveys:

Radio Button Multiple Choice, Single Answer

With this type of question you need to make a single selection only before moving on. The dot will move to whichever choice you make, if you do not make a selection you may be prompted to return to do so.

Tick Box Multiple Choice, Multiple Answer

You may choose as many answers as you wish or leave all blank for none.

Selection List  Multiple Option, Single Answer

To make a choice with this type of question simply click on the selection box and the options will appear as a pop up list (as shown) or as a drop down list.

You can only choose one answer from this list.

The question may be mandatory and not allow you to move forward until a selection is made on AT LEAST one of the answers. There will be an option that effectively allows you to proceed without giving an answer.

Short Text Answer   Free Text Answer - Short

This question type gives the opportunity to type in a single line of text such as an e-mail address or postcode.

It will usually be optional.

Long Text Answer  Free Text Answer - Long

This enables a free text answer that can be relatively unrestricted in length. You can cut and paste an answer from another document.

Depending on the question, it may be mandatory to supply an answer.

Other  Additional short text field option

Some questions provide a free text field which gives the respondee an opportunity to add an additional answer to those given in the question.

Depending on the question type they may be mandatory.

On some surveys there may be a request to login. You may create a username and password to enable you to return and complete the survey at a later time. We always recommend using your e-mail address as the username as this enables you to make a password reminder request when you forget!
